HASSRA FYLDE PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY

About us

The Society is open to any HASSRA member and we look forward to seeing new faces coming along and joining in.

We meet each Tuesday evening at 7:30pm in the Coffee Lounge (September - April) at the Department for Work and Pensions, Norcross, Norcross Lane, Thornton Cleveleys.

Members must announce themselves to the security gate house and sign in on entry, they must also sign out when leaving. All members bringing a vehicle on site must register them with the secretary beforehand.

Although we have a good number of keen competitive workers in our ranks, we pride ourselves first and foremost on being a friendly club whose priority is enjoying our photography.

The aim of the Society is to help people to enjoy and  learn about photography. Throughout the season we run a wide ranging programme of activities.

Our activities cover such things as:

Photographic shows
Travelogues by guest speakers
Presentations on photography - tuition sessions
Members’ nights - club competitions – and social events.

See the 2011-12 syllabus for a list of last seasons events

The Society has embraced the exciting new world of Digital Photography with enthusiasm but it still supports and encourages the more traditional arts of film-based photography. You don’t have to be an “expert” photographer to join in. We welcome complete novices and experts alike. The emphasis is on getting pleasure – and fun – out of photography.

Access to the site is via the main entrance to this site on Norcross Lane.
The Society meets on a government office site and we must adhere to security directives.

Membership is open to all but those who do join must be members of HASSRA, (the Health and Social Security Recreational Association).

We are longstanding members and supporters of the Joint Fylde Photographic Societies and the Lancashire & Cheshire Photographic Union, and take part fully in their activities.
