QUARTERLY COMPETITIONS:
The society holds four competitions throughout the season (sept to april), This allows members to show off their prints - digital images and slides against each other, a kind man called a "Judge" will make comments and give points for the winning images. At the end of the season the points are added up and awards are given.

DIGITAL KNOCKOUT:
Up to four digital images may be entered on the night. They must not have been seen by the club previously i.e. the audience must be unaware of the identity of the photographers entering.
Random pairs of images will be projected (against each other) and the audience will vote for the ones they prefer - the
losing entries being eliminated at each selection, so
eventually there will be only one winning image left

FOUR SEASONS:
Four slides or digital images should be submitted the week before the competition, you need to enter all four sections as each section is marked out of ten and the points are added together to get the grand total. The entries must be previously unseen by the club.

ANIMAL VEGETABLE MINERAL:
Three slides or digital images are required one for each Category, Animal, Vegetable and Mineral. A panel or a judge
will award points out of ten for each image entered and these points are accumulated to determine the overall winner.

FOCUS ON FYLDE:
All entries must have been taken within the boundaries of the Fylde. For this competition Fylde is from sea to the Bleasdale range of hills and from the north bank of the River Ribble to the south bank of the River Lune. One slide/digital image can be entered into each category.
a) Landscape
b) Seascape
c) People or Person
d) Object or Building.

DUORMA -AV:
Members may produce a sequence of slides or digital images set to music or commentary. Maximum duration 7 mins. Entries are judged by a selected panel of society members.

TRIPTYCH COMPETITION:
This is a new digital competition that will be held on the same evening as the Duorama competition.
The principle behind a triptych is that each competitor enters three related digital images and then brings them all together in a fourth image. It can be on any subject matter. None of the images must have been seen by club members.
Entries will be accepted the week before and will be judged by a selected panel of Society members.

SNAPSHOT COMPETITION:
This is open to beginners to enter a "snapshot" image, no bigger than 7x5 (inch),, you may enter up to a max of four images.
